What We Do
We supplement your engineering and technical departments with experience-driven process engineering documentation, graphics, visualizations, and CAD drawings, translating technical content into narratives that anyone can understand.
2D, 3D, 4D, 5D CAD
The art of computer-aided design has certainly changed over the years, fueled by a shrinking number of professionals experienced in using CAD tools as a means of technical communication. We have personally developed, designed, and communicated complex industrial projects using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Inventor, Fusion 360, AutoCAD Architecture and MEP toolsets, Navisworks, and Factory Utilities software packages. From early concept sketches to final construction documents, we can help supplement your CAD efforts including 4D (time-dependent) and 5D (cost-dependent) modeling.
Process Documentation
One way to describe process engineering is the application of the science of things that happen in sequence. We’ve designed process engineering projects over our entire career, including equal amounts of technical manufacturing and business operational processes. From this experience, we help our clients create standard operating procedures, functional descriptions, process analytic models, and of course all types of calculation spreadsheets.
Process Graphics
Pairing well with our Process Documentation service mentioned above, we help clients turn written process content into graphical content that more readily communicates abstract concepts than words. We routinely create process maps, flow diagrams, P&I/Ds, loop diagrams, equipment layouts, critical dependency maps, swim diagrams, and instructional diagrams that help operators, installers, builders, and auditors understand complex processes straight away.
Rendering and Visualization
Technical diagrams are great for engineering audiences, but leadership and investment audiences tend to prefer ‘pretty pictures’ as much more compelling and digestible mediums. For these audiences, we create rendered models and imagery, visualizations, and photo collage graphics to convey the details in eye-friendly ways. Most importantly, we understand the goals of such visuals – be it community appeal, financial investment, stakeholder updates, regulatory compliance, or conceptual project charters – and design our visuals specifically to these needs.
CAD Standardization
No engineer wants to reinvent the wheel, and no engineering manager wants to pay for this reinvention either. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happens when CAD departments are not standardized – that is, using decentralized data and different versions of assets across multiple team members. We help our clients implement CAD standardization by developing content libraries, standard specifications and details, file sharing networks, file templates, standard procedures and practices, training programs and videos.
CAD Administration
We’ve built engineering departments from the ground up, so we know what it means to manage technical workflows all the way down to day-to-day employee tasks and needs. Our clients tend to specifically need support setting up their CAD templates, working environments, and user profiles, which we are grateful to help with. We also help with ongoing CAD administration including software upgrades, department improvements, and CAD staff management consulting. We have pre-packaged title blocks and attribute blocks ready to customize for new clients, as well.
